Work:
After service as an officer in the Marine Corps, Riggle pursued a career in comedy. He was a cast member on "Saturday Night Live" from 2004-05, was a correspondent for "The Daily Show" from 2006-08, and has appeared in other television shows and movies.
Best accomplishment: In 1994 while still a Marine, Riggle decided to pursue a career in comedy and set as his goal to get on "Saturday Night Live." After a decade of paying his dues doing improv in New York, "SNL" producer Lorne Michaels hired Riggle.
Future project or goal:
Riggle left "The Daily Show" on Dec. 12 after signing a contract with CBS and CBS Paramount Network TV to create and star in a half-hour comedy series.
Other:
Riggle is a major in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, has served in Liberia, Kosovo and Afghanistan, and has earned more than 19 medals and ribbons, including the Combat Action Ribbon.
